Kids Moving Company (KMC) is the oldest independently owned creative movement program in the DC metro area, offering creative movement classes for children ages 9 months to 9 years. This fall, in lieu of our studio classes, we are taking our program on the road, offering classes in your home, local park, or community space.

KMC classes focus on encouraging your child's perceptual motor development through age appropriate activities that help children explore balance, coordination, rhythm, body awareness.  Unlike gymnastics or dance classes, our program is not skills based.  That is, we do not teach children how to do something, but rather provide an environment where they can explore and discover just what their body can do.  Many of the skills that our program encourages are actually the foundation for fundamental skills such as reading and writing.  Of course, all the kids know is that they're having a blast!

The Kids Moving Company program is designed by a peceptual motor therapist, and our small group classes (5:1 student-teacher ratio) means that your child will receive the individual attention that they deserve!
